Solar panel cleaning on the Northern Beaches

Panels are self-cleaning in theory and grubby in practice. A film of coastal salt, dust and pollen, plus bird droppings shading individual cells, quietly takes a bite out of your generation every month.

How we clean solar panels

  1. Inspect the array and check for damage or loose fittings before cleaning.
  2. Rinse the surface to lift loose dust and salt.
  3. Soft brush each panel with deionised water, working around wiring.
  4. Final deionised rinse so panels dry without mineral spotting.

What's included

  • Deionised water and soft brushes only, no abrasives or harsh chemicals
  • Panel surfaces, frames and edges cleaned without disturbing mounts
  • Bird mess and stubborn shading spots hand detailed
  • Roof access handled safely with no walking on the array

How often should panels be cleaned?

Once a year suits most homes. Coastal, dusty or heavily tree-shaded roofs are better on a six monthly cycle.

Will cleaning void my solar warranty?

Not with our method: deionised water and soft brushes, with no pressure washing and no harsh chemicals, which is what most panel makers' cleaning guides ask for. If your warranty sets its own cleaning rules, show us and we'll follow them.
